Why Teach?

I first starting teaching 4 years ago. My first 3 assignments were being the orchestra director, then the choir director, and lastly the chamber orchestra director. I now am the culinary instructor for a middle school here in Tampa.




That is why I decided to take an intern job at the Jacobson Culinary Academy at Tarpon Springs HS. I feel that teaching is not the easiest job in the world by any means but it definitely has its perks. Being at the middle school level I have the opportunity to work with some great kids but off course some not so great ones. The way these students grow up and mature before your eyes in the three years they are with you is something that not many people get to experience. To me I personally find it funny when colleagues say they "hate teaching", or "hate kids"; if you really don't like what your doing then quit, there are people who would love to take your position.

But whatever, there's no sense in complaining, no one every listens right?
